Bridget Grant earned her doctoral degree in epidemiology from Columbia University in 1984 and joined the U.S. National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) in 1987. She has directed all national surveys sponsored by NIAAA since 1988. As Laboratory Chief of Epidemiology and Biometry at NIAAA she has numerous awards, including the International Jellinek Award for major contributions to alcohol and comorbidity research and several prestigious National Institutes of Health Director’s Awards for her excellence in the conduct of national surveys on alcohol, drugs and mental health. Dr. Grant has published widely the areas of alcohol, drug and psychiatric epidemiology and currently has over 450 publications.
